Following a successful first stage in Barbados, Stowlog continued its participation in the European Union's Global Gateway Investment Mission with a series of high-level meetings and site visits in Trinidad & Tobago.

The visit provided a unique opportunity to engage directly with government officials, European representatives, and key stakeholders from the maritime and logistics sectors, reinforcing the importance of international cooperation in driving innovation and sustainable growth across Caribbean ports.

One of the highlights of the mission was meeting with H.E. Cécile Tassin, Ambassador of the European Union to Trinidad and Tobago, where discussions focused on the role of digitalization, innovation, and strategic partnerships in supporting the modernization of critical infrastructure throughout the region.

The Stowlog team was also honoured to meet Hon. Kennedy Swaratsingh, Minister in the Ministry of Public Utilities, exchanging views on the challenges and opportunities associated with developing resilient, future-ready infrastructure capable of supporting economic growth, trade facilitation, and operational excellence.

Another key milestone of the visit was a tour of the Port of Spain, one of the Caribbean's most important maritime gateways. During the visit, Stowlog gained valuable insights into the port's future expansion plans and strategic vision for increasing capacity, enhancing competitiveness, and strengthening its role within regional and international supply chains.

For Stowlog, understanding these development plans is particularly important as ports across the Caribbean continue to invest in new infrastructure and operational capabilities. As facilities grow in size and complexity, digital solutions for safety management, security control, contractor management, workforce training, and operational coordination become increasingly critical to ensuring sustainable and efficient growth.

The mission has also highlighted the strong commitment shared by both Caribbean stakeholders and European institutions to modernizing port ecosystems through innovation, technology, and knowledge exchange.

"Trinidad & Tobago has demonstrated a clear vision for the future of its maritime sector. It has been extremely valuable to engage directly with decision-makers and port leaders, learning about their priorities and exploring how European technology and expertise can contribute to their long-term objectives," said Pablo Aguirre, CEO of Stowlog.

As the Global Gateway Mission continues across the Caribbean, Stowlog remains committed to supporting the development of safer, smarter, and more connected maritime infrastructures, while building lasting partnerships with organizations that share this vision for the future.
