Bridgetown, Barbados – June 2026

Stowlog has proudly participated in the first stage of the European Union's Global Gateway Investment Mission to the Caribbean, held in Barbados. The mission brought together European companies, public institutions, and regional stakeholders to explore opportunities for investment, innovation, and collaboration across the maritime and logistics sectors.

As a company specialized in the digitalization of safety, security, and operational processes within port and logistics facilities, Stowlog was selected by the European Union to take part in this strategic initiative aimed at strengthening connectivity, resilience, and sustainable growth throughout the Caribbean.

During the visit, the Stowlog team engaged with representatives from the Government of Barbados, Barbados Port Inc., investment promotion agencies, customs authorities, and key actors from the local business community. These meetings provided valuable insights into the country's ambitious plans to modernize its maritime infrastructure and further strengthen its position as a leading logistics and transportation hub in the region.

A key highlight of the visit was the opportunity to learn more about the long-term vision of Barbados Port Inc., which includes major investments in cruise facilities, cargo infrastructure, transshipment capabilities, logistics services, training centers, and energy-related developments. These projects reflect a strong commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable growth.

For Stowlog, the mission represented an excellent opportunity to better understand the challenges and priorities facing Caribbean ports while showcasing how digital solutions can contribute to safer, more secure, and more efficient operations. As ports continue to expand and increase their role in global trade, digitalization will play a critical role in supporting workforce safety, regulatory compliance, operational visibility, and risk management.

"We are honoured to have been selected by the European Union for this mission and grateful for the warm welcome we received in Barbados. The country's vision for its maritime sector is both ambitious and inspiring, and we look forward to continuing our dialogue with stakeholders across the region," said Pablo Aguirre, CEO of Stowlog.

The Barbados leg of the mission marks the beginning of what promises to be an exciting journey of collaboration between European innovators and Caribbean maritime leaders, with the shared goal of building safer, smarter, and more resilient ports.
